In ironischer Weise wird auf die große <a href="https://xn--baw-joa.social/tags/Hungersnot" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Hungersnot</span></a> während des Ersten <a href="https://xn--baw-joa.social/tags/Weltkriegs" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Weltkriegs</span></a> aufmerksam gemacht. Die Lebensmittelknappheit erreichte ihren Höhepunkt im Winter 1916/17, der als „Steckrübenwinter“ in die Geschichte einging.
