A huge sigh of relief: I've finally managed to explain moss sex in a way that I hope is generally understandable. Not easy because there are only complicated technical terms for some stuff. Moss is generally neglected in all languages I know. So I have to find analogies ... We should have a moss sex cartoon.

For me it is many things, its tiny magnificent beaty, its resilience and patience, how they are tiny little eco systems or forests, how they hold water. How they are ancient in their own way.
That feeling when the deep winter freeze might be over and everyone starts to thaw, making the fleece moss and the star moss and their lichen frens look greener - lusher - fluffier - growier

We finally had rain last night 
The moss on this boulder, which was dry on Saturday, should be dewy by now 
The water is too high today, but I will try to fly fish during the weekdays 
Lush green moss and lichen covers fallen logs, contrasting with the surrounding autumn leaves in shades of brown and gold. A single vibrant leaf rests prominently atop the greenery, highlighting the season's transition.

Hickory Run State Park , PA
- The headwater area of a tributary of Sand Spring Run
The water flows beneath the surface, gathering to feed Sand Spring Run. The moss covered area indicates the path of the main watercourse
Black (Hayes) Creek
- tributary of the Lehigh River
The water is cold (16C/61F) but the air is warm (30C/86F) after the thunderstorm - the area is very steamy on a summer day
Checked back on a „moss and fern on lava“-experiment two or three months ago.
