#GutenMorgen Fediland. ☕

Alpacas! And some snow.
This was a walk with the alpacas, with quite a bit of alpaca knowledge included: They are really intelligent, have a fairly consistent hierarchy and marching order, they were selectively bred thousands of years ago from vicuña (and sadly produce way too much wool for their own good), they make very cute noises, and they will fight of smaller predators (which includes wolves).

The former goat pens I cleared with the Brushfucker 30000 yesterday. Left some of the more established trees standing until we can see what they are.

So we've got two fenced in pens and a stable (still needs mucking out) now. Hmmm! :think_bread:

No, we don't want goats. Not sure what yet. I'd like #Alpacas but they're pricey and hard to get.

Weather today was amazing by the way. But now winter is coming back for a while.

Tales of the #Wiltipoll arrival - the long version.

After the lambs had been left alone with the #MudBrothers for awhile, I decided to check how things were going.

I carried a patio chair with me (for comfort & support of my knees & back) & as I got to the gate leading out back the #alpacas met me.

I brushed past them - they’d been eating lucerne - & tried to spot the lambs. (I’ve been told by my better half that they are still classed as lambs for another 6 months.)

No sign.

I moved further into the paddock & spotted them eating near our trees.

The second I moved, the #MudBrothers abandoned the lucerne & moved to follow me, staying behind, but very close.

My brave alpacas were scared of the lambs! LOL!

I moved my chair closer for a decent photo & the boys shadowed me.

Sitting down the lambs caught sight of me & moved to approach me - the alpacas moved away & hid behind some thistles.

The #MudBrothers stayed there the entire time I was watching the lambs eat before eventually laying down by one of the trees.

I had my photos to #toot, so I picked up my chair & headed back to the house.

The alpacas abandoned their lamb watching thistle position & went back to eating lucerne by the gate.

I did manage to get the back of my neck badly sunburnt, I’ll wear my digger hat next time instead of a cap.

Yours, @John
