J o s é W i t t e v e e nCiao, Goeie, Hello everyone! 🐦‍🔥 Some information about me and my work! I grew up in a nature reserve in Frisia, where my early interest in observing and documenting the world around me began. I studied art at the Royal Art Academy in The Hague and Philosophy at the University of Groningen. My art is displayed in several museum collections, and I have participated in various exhibitions and artist residencies across Europe. After working full-time in printmaking for over 20 years, I began incorporating photography into my practice six years ago. My work exists between the realms of photography and printmaking, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques. In my ongoing project Orlando, I reimagine Virginia Woolf’s Orlando, using conversation and photography to explore the nuances of human identity beyond stereotypes and traditional representations. I see photography as a powerful research tool, merging its evidential nature with emotional and human perspectives.
