New preprint led by PhD student Che-Wei Chang on using deep learning to predict the geographic origin of #barley genebank accessions and how it can be used in genome-environment association (GEA).
Take home: Prediction works well, but improvement of GEA is limited.

Another agrivoltaics study shows that crop yields from fields where plants share space with vertical photovoltaics are the same as, or perhaps a bit higher, than yields from similar fields but without the solar generating infrastructure. There's, like, a handful of these now, at least. This one's from Sweden.
