Researchers say that a person’s intelligence plays a bigger role in their computer proficiency than previously believed, so much so that practice alone may not be enough… So if you’re ‘smart’ you have an advantage when it comes to using technology, confirming yet again that tech can be divisive, promoting a divide between higher- and lower-IQ individuals. That’s an ‘access’ issue IMO, that needs to be addressed. Considering a majority of the world’s population has an IQ under 100, this is an equity and equality matter. All individuals, regardless of intelligence quotients, should have access to the benefits offered by technology. #Technology #equity

"#Washington’s top #education leader says he won’t sign the U.S. Department of Education’s recent letter ordering K-12 #schools to certify they’re in compliance with federal civil rights laws and are halting any “illegal” #diversity, #equity, and #inclusion programs.

The letter, sent to school leaders across the nation late last week, threatens to withhold federal funding from schools for “any violation” of civil rights law — including #DEI programs that “advantage one race over another.” It also requires schools to sign the certification and return it to the department within 10 days."

I wonder what Dr. Lakshmi Chilukuri, professor of molecular biology, provost of 6th College at #UCSD, and mother of Usha Vance thinks of the #fascism. Have any students in her lab lost their visas? Has her research been affected by the #NIH cuts?
