I'm so proud! #Sennheiser never would have allowed a #garage-built #proton-pack to make it in to their behind-the-scenes video! (That's me starting at 2:36)

For contrast, don't miss the Sennheiser #Spectera video.

I'm doing the next generation protonpack #fpga telemetry system as an #opensource #openhardware design.

Team #mastodon will help me out, right?

Internal to the #Axient #Digital #PSM Receiver (ADXR) that #Shure just shipped there is, unsurprisingly, a programming header
that exposes #serial, #JTAG, etc. It is in violation of (Murphy's)[en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_A.] law.

This stupid cable has the same connector at both ends, but is electrically asymmetrical. It has no key feature and has no obvious polarity marking on the cable.

I will not allow this mistake to
propagate to the new design.

@nervous_jessica Yes, a "Same same but different" case, this.

Have you run into any "true" counterfeits? I work at #Shure and their products get faked so well that sometimes it's difficult even for Shure engineering staff to tell if they are the real deal or not. They sometimes get sent in for service. And Shure owns their own factories specifically to avoid "overproduction" concerns.

Remember when we were buying expensive in-ear headphones and Ultimate Ears (now a Logitech brand) was considered an audiophile premium brand?

I remember paying lots of money for some cheap plastic headphones where often the cord broke while using them.

While unboxing boxes (I just moved to a new place), I just found these still sealed Ultimate Ears 900. I remember I paid €300 for them, and these here were a repair.

@azonenberg
Yeah, sounds like you have good reason for a wired mouse.

Build a chamber?

On the flip side: The secret to #Shure's excellent radio designs back in the day was that there was a giant radio station transmitter across the street. The designs had great rejection baked in because otherwise the engineers couldn't use them on their benches. :-)

Maybe you should add a remote kill switch on the wifi and have a script turn off wifi during DUT scans.

No laptop/cellphones nearby?
