Please do not do this. Try linux or give them to someone else who will, or donate them to charitable organizations.

Can we have a #hashtag on here for people who wish to discard perfectly good computers, so other people on here who are less fortunate can get them and use linux or something?

Any opinions on a best hashtag for that?

*edit @generationX mentioned a hashtag, #computertruhe (which is a group or the german equivalent to this paying it forward of computers or related parts, and is active on mastodon!) This may translate to #computerchest and is the best lead on a relevant hashtag for this purpose so far!

#Debian 12 Bookworm made installation and GUI much easier than previous versions, including nonfree repositories for proprietary driver support! Debian 13 Trixie drops later this year. It is upstream and al about open source, as a Linux option.

this article reads- Microsoft's Emergency Alert: 240M Windows Users Should Stop Using Their PCs. Microsoft is preparing millions of PC owners for the unprecedented device cliff edge that hits on October 14, when support for Windows 10 ends. According to Windows Latest, the company is advising users to discontinue the use of certain devices and to “recycle Windows 10 PCs” that are unable to upgrade to Windows 11. -from lawyer-monthly, which runs bad scripts. A pencil case with an elastic made at work! The material is samples of what is probably table cover material, 100% polyester, had a waxy feel to it and a bit sheer. I had fun mixing the pastelly colours and deciding what product to make out of them! The white back is the same material, just a larger piece. Lining is an old pillow case. Pretty much everything at work is donated, so it's another entirely recycled product!

Had to fiddle around a bit cause I used a too short zipper. 😅
