As an update on this, #TeslaTakedown clearly fulfills 2. It's targeted in exactly the way it should be, and it's been highly successful at causing economic damage. It's continued to escalate. It's checking a lot of the boxes here for items 2 & 3.

Unfortunately, I feel like 50501 has been consumed by the political machine. I think it's struggling to articulate a clear and achievable demand. It feels like (at least some of) the energy has been shifted from immediate action to some amorphous "vote in November" thing. The DNC is a controlled opposition. This includes Sanders and AOC. They don't represent a real threat to the dominant order, they are how we got here. Even if they are allowed to win an election (such as with Biden), they will not change things in a way that resolve the underlying problem.

#WeAreTheFlood overlaps with the #50501movement, but doesn't seem to be a 100% overlap. Their targeting of media outlets is really interesting also. The simple demand of "cover these protests" feels like a really achievable thing and is really smart. If they cover you, you win. If they don't cover you, you grow. If there's violent repression, you probably still grow and maybe even faster.

However, I'm not clear on the demands for any of these. I don't think Tesla Takedown has any demands. That's actually fine in this case. Destroying Tesla completely can and should serve as a warning to both companies flirting with the right and investors to make sure they aren't giving money to grifters. IMHO, Tesla should be destroyed with no option to surrender. I honestly think it just had to die anyway at some point. When targeting real companies, not just 10 grifts in a trench coat, it is important to give them a way to surrender. You want companies to look at the options and think, "we can lose a bunch of money and significantly damage our brand or we can give up and lose some money. Economically, capitulation makes the most sense." If brands are simply destroyed, there's no incentive for cooperation. They'll just shift their marketing to align with fash.

Since I'm not in the US anymore, this analysis probably has some gaps. I'd be interested to get other folks feedback on how accurate it is or if I'm missing something. I'd be really interested to hear what folks who believe in 50501 have to say and if they feel this is an accurate assessment.

Edit: To be clear, what I'm saying is that 50501 seems to be following a similar path as #Occupy, but being more actively funneled towards controlled opposition. It has a lot of support, but is neither moving towards revolutionary change on it's own nor making a clear set of demands for incrimental change. This means that when the stormtroopers come to kick it in the teeth, it may very well evaporate in a cloud of unresolved resentment like Occupy did. 50501 is *not* a revolutionary movement, but people who support it *could* start moving in a revolutionary direction. We'll see what happens.

This regime is sitting on a powder keg of public anger, and they're so arrogant they think they are untouchable. But I am seeing the passion and fear and bravery in the crowds at these protests. The public response is only building. As we connect more and more through #50501movement and #WeAreTheFlood, and as more MAGAs realize what's happening, the protests are going to be off the chart.
