Question for all you #nvidia #gpu pros out there. My #gaming PC has an Rm850x Power supply stating to be capable of 600W 12V 2x6 via 2x8pin connector. Seems sufficient for say an RTX5080. The RTX5080 itself comes with an adapter connecting 3x 8pin to one 12V HP connector. Should I be using (hypothetically) the adapter coming with the GPU and connect it to three cables coming from the PSU or would the two lines on the pic in my hand be sufficient?

Yet another afternoon stroll on over to the storage unit, locating spares and system parts from former projects. These will be allocated to three systems in my homelab (the rack at home this time):

1. Raptor Talos II box, needs a pair of Optane NVMe boot drives
2. Supermicro, EPYC Zen4, an additional Nvidia GPU for CUDA meta-port dev
3. Supermicro, E3/v6 Xeon, a second QAT 8960 for OpenZFS + OpenSSL comp/decomp/crypto offload
~. Napatech 4x10G SmartNIC, this is for my TRex load generators, so it's going to the colo

Should be a relaxing evening, mostly focused on the installs, and maybe some project planning too.
