@ClimateJenny @Otis_Scops I have zero gripes with people running old vehicles because newer would mean different, probably larger problems.

What I do have big hostility to is people who run vehicles with heavily worn engines, ineffective catalytic converters, or those built with [or modified to have] bad hydrocarbon emissions to begin with - most motorcycles, for example, and #VW 's that never got their emissions defeats fixed. Any of these is worse for my health than a modern well-maintained 40 tonne diesel rig passing me fully laden in a civilised overtake. #cycling #ebike #PAH 's #VOC 's #particulates #pollution

Die offiziellen Schätzungen über #Schadstoffausstoß in der Athabasca-Ölsandregion sind wahrscheinlich zu niedrig. Die Risiken durch die #Ölsandgewinnung wurden unterschätzt. Insbesondere die indirekten Emissionen, die zB durch Verdunstung aus Abfallteichen entstehen, tragen erheblich zur Verschmutzung bei. Polyzyklische aromatische #Kohlenwasserstoffe, können sowohl Menschen als auch die Umwelt gefährden.
