This apologia being said, the fact is that #AI shouldn't be here - yet.

In a responsible world this would be an idea on paper until we've reached a point where we could develop a #NPU to facilitate #LLM or #generativeAI - as an academic project that could reach maturity in like a 100 years

But since #capitalism is the #socioeconomic equivalent of shooting cocaine straight into the vein, what we see is irresponsible execs - who are destroying #acedemia - while slamming their foot on the pedal.

And pop goes the bubble. The plagiarism machine is gonna go vrrrooom, but as a general utility? We'll see how much use people will have for their #NPU chips. Will it become one of those accelerators that will be abandoned and lost to time...?

The #ArmsRace of today is #AI. Yes, yes, it's glorified statistical models. Shut up.

There are so many "first to X" races here that it's not even funny. Even the #EUCommission released a statement about it.

We're in for it, folks, and the winner of this race will hopefully be #OpenSource and the consumer - with #NPU hardware being the future of #PC #hardware #trends.

But it depends upon how the general public responds.

It's too bad so much of the #tech industry is reliant on GPU processing right now.

I don't know whether #deepseek has done what they have claimed to or not but there is room for improvement.

There are bottlenecks we will overcome and optimisations will be developed to make AGI, ML and LLM's efficient.

Tech needs it to happen and when it does it's going to wipe the floor many companies who rely on old tech. Whomever does it first will make a fortune.
